
Red Raider Invite wraps up Friday afternoon

Fanny Arendt and Shelby Frank each broke school records
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up the one-day Red Raider Invite Friday afternoon at the Sports Performance Center.
The early portion of the meet was highlighted by Fanny Arendt and Shelby Frank each breaking Tech records in their respective event. Arendt clocked an 800m time of 2:05.27, taking down Shannon's Spaulding 2002 time of 2:05.77. Frank, on the other hand, broke the school weight throw record on her second attempt heaving it 21.98m (72-1 1.2) before finishing the competition at 22.07m (72-5). The previous record was held by Kelly Closse in 2012 with a mark of 21.62m.
Ruta Lasmane made her season debut in the triple jump and on her first attempt leaped 13.97nm (45-10) for the top mark in the country. She bumped her No. 1 mark to 14.00m (45-11 ¼) on her final jump. In the high jump, Temitope Adeshina took the country's top mark leaping 1.93m (6-4). Garison Breeding highlighted the men's triple jump surpassing the 16-meter mark for the first time in his career as he bounded 16.04m (52-7 ½).
The men's 4x400 team of Charlie Bartholomew, Desean Boyce, Josh Bour and Georgia Garcia clocked in at 3:04.60 for a season best and No. 4 all-time for Tech.
Nathan Kapel ran a 4:02.49 mile putting him No. 6 all-time for Tech. The women's hurdles were led by Naomi Krebs who ran a personal best time of 8.07.
Notables
·     All of Lasmane's jumps were at least 13.76 meters
·     Suzan Ogunleye (13.47m) and Tamiah Washington (13.23m) finished second and third in the triple jumps with personal best marks
·     Boyce ran a 46.40 in the 400m open
