
Red Raiders set for NMJC Invite No. 2

Next week Tech will be traveling to South Bend, Ind., for the Joe Piane Invite
LUBBOCK, Texas – Select members of the Texas Tech women's cross country team will travel to Hobbs, N.M., Friday afternoon for the NMJC Invitational No. 2 at Harry McAdams Park.
The 5k race will begin at 6 p.m. CT – there will be no live results available. This will be the Red Raider's second-to-last trip to New Mexico before returning on Oct. 11.
Runners expected to participate in this meet include Lila Crowley, Ryan Halliburton, Melanie Jacobs, Shannon Quinn, Riley Ries, Edna Rotich and Peyton Wagner.
Last week at the same course, the women won the team title thanks to a 1-2-4-5-6 led by Sheilah Bii with a 5k time of 17:43.60. Lily Mather placed second overall with a time of 18:24.30 with Hannah Spears (18:43.70) and Alexia Garza (19:03.50) rounding out the top-5 in fourth and fifth.
After this meet, Tech will have three regular-season meets left on the 2024 slate before the start of the postseason. The final regular-season meet will be the Arturo Barrios Invite on Oct. 18 before the Big 12 Championship on Nov. 1 hosted by Baylor.
