HOBBS, N.M. – Select members of the Texas Tech women's cross country ran in the NMJC Invitational No. 2 Friday evening at Harry McAdams Park.
Tech toed the line in Hobbs for the third time this season as the women's team placed second overall in the team standings tonight, thanks to a 3-5-8-12-14 team scoring. The overall winner from SPC did not count towards the team scoring, making a few overall finishes from runners tonight different when it comes to calculating the team points.
All seven Red Raiders tonight placed inside the top-27 in a field of nearly 50 runners.
The Red Raiders were led by freshman Peyton Wagner with a 5k time of 19:14.60 as she finished fourth individually. Riley Ries (19:31.80) was behind her in sixth, while Lila Crowley (20:10.00) rounded out the top-10 in ninth.
Ryan Halliburton (20:37.00) finished 13th as Melanie Jacobs (20:44.20) placed 15th. Shannon Quinn (20:45.50) came in at 16thm while Edna Rotich (21:58.50) was the final Red Raider to cross the end line, placing 27th.
