Tech sends three to ITA All-American Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas – Three Lady Raiders will travel back to the Carolinas this week as they compete at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C., from Sept. 21-29.
The three players going are Yekaterina Dmitrichenko, Andreea Lila and Avelina Sayfetdinova. Both Dmitrichenko and Sayfetdinova will compete as a duo in the prequalifying doubles draw. All three Lady Raiders are also competing in singles as both Dmitrichenko and Lila are in the prequalifying singles draw and Sayfetdinova is in the qualifying singles draw.
The Lady Raiders opened fall tournament play last weekend at the Furman Fall Classic in Greenville, S.C. In the tournament, Sayfetdinova won the flight one doubles title with partner Mariia Hlahola, going 3-0 together with victories against pairs from Kentucky, Alabama and NC State. She also picked up a gritty, three-set win in singles over No. 108-ranked NC State player, Gabriella Broadfoot, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Lila, who teamed up with Jermine Sherif for doubles, won the flight three title with victories over Clemson, Mississippi State and Wake Forest. In addition, both Lila and Dmitrichenko put together a 2-1 singles record at the tournament.
In a new format this fall, 10 singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists) from the ITA All-American Championships. Meanwhile, four doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists).
The tournament will have live stats available and will be streamed on both PlaySight and the Cracked Racquets YouTube channel.
