Texas Tech opens the 2024 campaign with one of four visits to New Mexico
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech cross country team opens its 2024 season traveling to Las Cruces, N.M., for the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open at the NMSU Golf Course Friday morning.
The women's 5k will begin at 8:30 a.m., while the men's 5k will follow right after at 9 a.m.
All three NCAA participants (freshman in 2023) including All-American Juliet Cherubet return to the lineup this weekend. Cherubet placed third at the Big 12 and Mountain Region cross country meet before capping off her season 18th overall at the NCAA Championships.

Friday's meet will also be the debut of Taytum Goodman – a nine-time high school state champion in track and four-time cross country state champion at Springlake-Earth.Course map for tomorrow ?? pic.twitter.com/w5RoRH7XYU

In the USTFCCCA regional rankings earlier this week, both the men and women's team checked in at No. 10 in the Mountain Region. Meanwhile, the men's team received one vote this week in the coaches poll.
