FORT WORTH, Texas. -- The Texas Tech Lady Raiders were held under 50 points for the second time this season in a 69-48 loss to TCU on Wednesday night, in Fort Worth. The Lady Raiders (9-7, 0-5) were held to a season-low 31.6% from the field (18-57) and turned the ball over 22 times, which tied a season high.
"I felt like we were getting good looks at times, but we just couldn't get them to go," Texas Tech head coach Candi Whitaker said. "TCU was obviously making plays, and they went on a run we couldn't counter. I thought TCU did a good job of getting the ball inside, especially considering we did a good job of taking the three away. It just came down to us not being able to put the ball in the hole."
Tech started slowly with four early turnovers and fell into a 6-0 hole, but caught fire and brought themselves even with the Frogs at 14, before Japreece Dean banked in a long triple at the first quarter buzzer to give Tech a 17-16 lead.
For the third-straight game, Tech struggled in the second quarter. TCU (11-5, 3-2) came out of the break on a 13-0 run to take its first double-digit lead of the night. Dean scored Tech's first six of the second quarter to bring the deficit down to 32-23, but TCU went on a 7-0 run to take a 39-23 lead, which was cut to 39-26 at the half.

The lead was extended from there to 57-34 through three frames. The Lady Raiders were held to single digits in the second and third quarters for the second-straight game.
The Lady Raiders were outscored in the paint, 38-20, and TCU's bench outscored Tech's, 28-8. Tech lost despite outrebounding TCU, 41-35, including snagging 17 offensive boards. It marked the first time this season Tech has lost when outrebounding its opponent.
