OPENING DAY ATTENDANCE
- The paid attendance of today's game was 2,751, which marked the most fans attending a Red Raiders home opener since 2003 when 3,018 fans attended the Red Raiders 4-2 win over New Mexico on Jan. 31, 2003.
OPENING DAY ON VALENTINE'S DAY
- For just the second time in school history the Red Raiders played their Opening Day on Valentine's Day. The only other time Texas Tech has played its Opening Day on Valentines Day (Feb. 14) was hosting UT Arlington on Feb. 14 to open the 1977 season while taking an 8-3 win over the Mavericks.
FASTEST PLAYED OPENING DAY GAME SINCE 1993
- Texas Tech and Indiana played today's game in one hour and 58 minutes while both teams combined for one run and nine hits without either team making an error. It marked the fastest played Opening Day game for the Red Raiders since 1993 when Tech defeated Howard Payne 6-0 in Lubbock during an hour and 50 minute contest.

- Made his second consecutive start on Opening Day for the Red Raiders.
- Became the first Tech pitcher to start on Opening Day in back-to-back seasons since Chad Bettis (2009-10).
- Became just the fifth Red Raider (since 1987) to start on Opening Day in back-to-back seasons.... he joins RHP Chad Bettis (2009-10), RHP Shane Wright (1998-99), RHP Mark Brandenburg (1991-92) and Rodney Steph (1989-90).
- Has a 0.75 ERA in two career Opening Day starts (12.0 IP, 1 ER, 14 SO).
- Made his 13th career appearance (11th career start).
