LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Amber Battle scored 19 points for Texas Tech, but the Lady Raiders fell to No. 18 West Virginia 70-51 on Wednesday night.
Texas Tech (6-12, 0-7) was held to shooting just under 31 percent from the field.
Asya Bussie scored 19 points and Taylor Palmer added 17 as West Virginia handed Texas Tech its second straight loss against a ranked opponent.
Bussie made 11 of 13 free throws and grabbed nine rebounds for West Virginia (17-2, 6-1 Big 12). Palmer came off the bench to hit 4 of 7 shots from beyond the arc. Christal Caldwell chipped in with 10 points, which put her over the 1,000 point mark for her career.
It was the start of a two-game Texas road trip for the Mountaineers, who are now 7-0 away from home this season.
It was the second of four consecutive Top 25 games for Texas Tech. The Lady Raiders lost to No. 8 Oklahoma State last Saturday, and have No. 20 Iowa State and No. 12 Baylor up next.
