KANSAS CITY, Mo. Fresh off a 1-0 shutout victory over TCU Wednesday night, the Texas Tech soccer team is set for its second consecutive appearance in the Big 12 Soccer Championship semifinals.
The Red Raiders, a No. 2 seed, will face No. 6 seed Oklahoma State Friday night at the Swope Soccer Village with a right to play in the conference championship match on the line. Kickoff for the match is set for 8 p.m. with the Big 12 Digital Network providing a free web stream.
The Red Raiders and Cowgirls battled to a scoreless draw earlier in the regular season and are meeting in the Big 12 tournament for the first time since 2010.
Oklahoma State advanced to the semifinals after upsetting No. 3 seed Texas 2-1 in its quarterfinal match Wednesday.
Tech junior Paige Strahan provided the Red Raiders' game-winner in the 31st minute against TCU with a long strike from outside the penalty area. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Victoria Esson posted her fifth-straight shutout.
The Red Raiders have allowed just one goal in their last nine contests and are unbeaten in 15-straight matches dating back to Sept. 1.
