Tech Places 11 on Academic All-Big 12 Soccer Team

Texas Tech placed 11 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 Soccer team on Tuesday.

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer team placed 11 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 team as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
Texas Tech placed an impressive eight student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 First team while three student-athletes were selected to the second team.
"We are extremely proud of these student athletes," Texas Tech head coach Tom Stone said. "They have excelled both on and off the field and have done an outstanding job of representing our program and our university."
Texas Tech junior Hayley Haagsma was one of seven Academic All-Big 12 First Team selections from across the conference with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
First team selections consisted of student-athletes who maintained a 3.2 GPA or higher while also competing in at least 60 percent of the team's scheduled events. Meanwhile second team selections consisted of student-athletes who maintained a 3.00-3.19 GPA while also competing in at least 60 percent of the team's competitions.
