The win marked Texas Tech's fifth in a row, the program's longest winning streak since winning five-straight from Sept. 2-9 in 2006.
Texas Tech's 5-1 record marks the school's best start to a season since the 2003 squad won its first eight matches, all of which came on the road or at neutral sites.
Despite winning the match, the Red Raiders snapped a four-match streak where the Red Raiders swept their opponent in three sets. That streak had been Tech's longest since the 1999 season.
Texas Tech's 3-0 homestand marked its best record at home to start a season since the 2004 squad opened the year with four-straight wins in Lubbock.
The win helped Tech surpass its win total from the entire 2010 season as the Red Raiders are now 5-1 through six matches. Tech is one win shy of matching its total from the 2009 and 2010 seasons combined.
Amanda Dowdy's 14 kills and 23 digs marked her 18th career double-double and fifth one of the season. Dowdy's lone match this year where she has not totaled a double-double came against Grambling State when she was pulled following the opening set.
Dowdy's 23 digs in the match also marked a new career high, surpassing her previous high of 20 that she set against Colorado on Oct. 13, 2010.
Miara Cave matched her career high for kills for the second time this season as she finished with 15 in the match. Cave also recorded 15 kills in the season opener at TCU as well as in 2009 when she totaled the amount against Gonzaga.
Cave finished the match with a .229 hitting percentage which was the first time all season she has not hit .400 or better.
Tory Vaughan snapped her career high with 21 digs in the match. Her previous high was 13 which she had already matched twice this season.
Tech finished with a 17.5-8 blocks advantage as it has now outnumbered its opponents in the category every match this season.
Aubree Piper and Mikia Mills both finished with eight blocks in the match, all on assists, which marked a new season high for Mills while Piper matched her career high for the second-straight match.
In addition to her 12 kills in the match, Breeann David also added six blocks in the match which marked a new season high for the freshman.
