
Texas Tech Set To Honor Our Nation's Heroes

The Texas Tech athletics department will honor local heroes with its Veterans, Active Military, and First Responders Appreciation Weekend, scheduled for November 11-12. The weekend will coincide with Texas Tech's Second Annual Wounded Warrior football game against Oklahoma State.
Companies and individuals who would like to donate to send veterans and military personnel and their families to designated Texas Tech events may do so by contacting the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Sales office at (806) 742-8300 or by emailing rodrick.evans@ttu.edu or t.heppler@ttu.edu. $30 provides a ticket to the Red Raider football game vs. Oklahoma State, the Lady Raider basketball game vs. New Mexico, the Red Raider basketball game vs. Troy and the volleyball match against Kansas.
The weekend of activities starts with a basketball doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 11, as the Lady Raiders face off against border rival New Mexico at 6 p.m. while the men take on Troy later that evening at 8:30 p.m. Saturday's action will feature the Texas Tech volleyball team against Kansas and Red Raider football taking on Oklahoma State. The volleyball team is presenting complimentary admission for veterans, active military and first responders and family members for its match against the Jayhawks at the United Spirit Arena.
A new option this year, is the ability for companies and individuals to purchase ticket packages in quantities of 25 ($750), 50 ($1,500) and 100 ($3,000). The packages include quantities of 25, 50 or 100 tickets to all four weekend events (men's and women's basketball, football and volleyball).
Veterans, active military and first responders in the Lubbock and surrounding areas will have access to special $20 individual tickets for the Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State football game, on Nov. 12 at Jones AT&T Stadium. The tickets are priced at a discount of $55 off the original ticket price and can be ordered online at texastech.com with promo code "HERO" or by calling (806) 742-TECH.
This group is also eligible to purchase $5 tickets to the season-opening doubleheader for men's and women's basketball at the United Spirit Arena on Friday, Nov. 11.
