
Tech Cross Country to Run at Richard Clark Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's and No. 4 ranked women's cross country teams will be heading to Springfield, Mo., for the Richard Clark Invitational presented by the Greater Springfield Sports Commission held at the Missouri State Cross Country Facility this Saturday.
Both squads are coming off a week of training after dominating the Texas Tech Red Raider Open held at the Meadowbrook Golf Course two weeks ago. The women scored its second-straight perfect score with 15 points and the men beat the field by 37 points. The women are still ranked No. 4 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The women have been led by Rose Tanui, who has won two-straight individual titles. The men have been paced by Gilbert Limo and Silas Kemboi this season. The two seniors have either finished second or third in both meets this season. Kemboi was second at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open while Limo was third.
The women will be running in the Ramada Oasis Hotel Women's Collegiate 5K while the men will be running the Ramada Oasis Hotel Men's Collegiate 8K. The field includes Missouri Southern State, Missouri State, New Mexico State, Oral Roberts, Southern Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri-Kansas City, Toledo, Western Illinois and Wichita State.
The women's race will begin at 9 a.m. and the men will follow at 9:40 a.m., local time.
