
Lady Raiders Start Season Ranked No. 4

LUBBOCK, Texas - The 2010 Texas Tech Women's Cross Country squad, after having its most successful season in program history in 2009, begin the season ranked as the No. 4 team in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll.
The two-time defending Big 12 Champions finished in fourth place last season at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Lady Raiders are the top Big 12 school team ranked with Colorado coming in at No. 13 and Iowa State at No. 16. The No. 4 ranking is the highest preseason ranking in school history for the squad.
The Lady Raiders and Red Raiders begin the season this weekend in Ruidoso, N.M. with the Texas Tech Ruidoso Open. A preview of the meet will be on www.texastech.com later this week.
