GETTING STARTED
Weather conditions at kickoff: Clear skies; 69 degrees; winds from the S at 14 mph
Tonight's game was televised regionally on ABC. It marked Tech's seventh televised game of the season and its second appearance on ABC.
Tonight's game marked the eighth meeting between Texas Tech and Missouri.
Missouri won the coin toss and elected to receive. Texas Tech is now 5-4 on the season in the opening coin toss.
Texas Tech wore special edition uniforms for tonight's game as part of the Wounded Warrior Project. The uniforms were a combination of black and camouflage.

Tonight's game captains were senior linebacker Bront Bird and senior running back Baron Batch.
Sophomore defensive back Eugene Neboh made his first career start tonight against Missouri just one week after seeing the first game action of his career at Texas A&M.
Senior defensive lineman Colby Whitlock made his 45th consecutive start today against Texas A&M while teammate Brian Duncan (defensive end) had his streak of 42 consecutive starts snapped.

Gives Texas Tech a 5-4 record on the season and a 3-4 mark in Big 12 Conference play.
Gives Texas Tech four consecutive wins on homecoming and their 50th overall. Tech is now 50-28-3 all-time on homecoming.
Gives Texas Tech its first win over a ranked opponent this season. Tech has defeated at least one ranked opponent in four consecutive seasons.

SHEFFIELD GETS THE STARTING NOD/POTTS SAVES THE DAY
Senior quarterback Steven Sheffield made his first start of the season tonight against Missouri. Prior to tonight's game, senior quarterback Taylor Potts had made all eight previous starts. Tonight's game represented the third career start for Sheffield and his first since leading the Red Raiders to a 31-10 road win over No. 15 Nebraska on Oct. 17, 2009.
Senior quarterback Taylor Potts entered the game with five minutes remaining in the second quarter. Potts engineered Tech's only touchdown drive of the half that covered 16 plays/82 yards and ended with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Detron Lewis. The touchdown pass pulled Tech to within one touchdown at 17-10.
Potts led Tech to another touchdown on the first posssesion of the second half that ended in a 16-yard TD strike to Lyle Leong. The touchdown pass was the 50th of his career and he became one of just four QB's in Tech history to reach 50 career touchdown passes.
Potts finished the night with 188 passing yards (19-of-28 with one interception) along with three touchdown passes.
BATCH JOINS THE 2,000/1,000 CLUB
Senior running back Baron Batch reached the 2,000/1,000 yard club tonight as he has rushed for over 2,000 yards in his career and hauled in over 1,000 career receiving yards. Batch needed five receiving yards coming into tonight's game to join the exclusive club and ended the night with 14 receiving yards.
Batch set a new career high for carries as he ran the ball 28 times for 134 yards.
STEPHENS SETS ANOTHER RETURN RECORD
Sophomore Eric Stephens set another kickoff return record this evening as he set the single-season mark that he set last year as a true freshman. Stephens, who set the single-season record last year with 823 return yards, returned the opening kickoff of the third quarter 22 yards to move him past his record by two yards. Stephens ended the game with 85 return yards and now owns 825 yards on the season.
AND THE GAME BALL GOES TO ....
After the game, Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville presented game balls to Anthony Villarreal, Mike Owens and Chad Flemming. The three men are members of the Wounded Warrior Project and were special guests at tonight's game.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
Trailing 14-0 in the first quarter, senior placekicker Matt Williams put the Red Raiders on the board with a 42-yard field goal that made the score 14-3 in favor of Missouri. The 42-yard field goal was a season long for Williams surpassing a 40-yard field goal two weeks ago at Colorado.
Senior wide receiver Lyle Leong's 42-yard reception in the first quarter marked a season long.
Junior defensive end Donald Langley recovered a Missouri fumble in the second quarter and that marked the first fumble recovery of his career.
Lyle Leong's 16-yard touchdown reception on Tech's opening drive of the third quarter tied the game at 17-17 and was his 14th touchdown of the year. He gave Tech the go-ahead score on the next possesion as the Red Raiders took a 24-17 lead by virtue of his five-yard touchdown catch. His second touchdown catch gave him his fifth multiple-touchdown game of the season and the ninth of his career.
Texas Tech scored on three consecutive possession from the end of the second quarter and into the third. The last time Tech scored on three-straight posssessions was against Baylor at the Cotton Bowl.
