LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore midfielder Taylor Lytle recently became only the third Red Raider all-time to be named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) all-central region second team.
Lytle broke numerous school records in 2009, including the single-season assist mark with 11. The Las Cruces, N.M., native also finished with four goals for 19 points on her way to earning All-Big 12 first team honors.
Lytle joins Kristy Frantz (1997) and Jennifer Hamm (1998) as the only Tech players to be honored by the association. The award is Lytle's third this season and fifth of her career. A total of 18 Big 12 players were represented on the first, second, and third teams.
Red Raider fans still have until Wednesday to vote for Lytle for Soccer News Net's regional and national player of the year awards. Fans can access the voting by visiting http://www.dallassoccernews.com/college/wplayerpoll.php.
