No. 30 Lady Raiders Roll to Cowboy Jamboree Title

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 30 Texas Tech Lady Raiders cross country squad dominated the field at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree scoring 35 points and placing four runners in the top 10 to take the team title while the men recorded a ninth place finish in a tough field.
Tech placed four women in the top 10 of the race. Lillian Badaru paced the squad as she won the individual title running a 17:10.50 to win the race by nine seconds. Purity Biwott crossed the line in third in 17:24.50. It is her third-straight race to finish in the top 10. Caroline Karunde finished right on her heels as she ran a 17:26.40 placing fourth.
Winrose Karunde was the fourth Lady Raider in the top 10. She ran 17:38.00 to finish in ninth place. Michelle Guzman was the fifth Lady Raider to cross the line as she was 19th. The junior ran a time of 17:57.60.
Other Lady Raiders that ran were Kaci Westervelt (100th), Meagan Willingham (137th), Katherine Priebe (146th), Amanda McKeehan (183rd) and Michelle Edman (196th).
The Lady Raiders team total of 36 points was 71 points ahead of second place. It is the third-straight meet the Lady Raiders have won this season.
The men's squad finished in ninth place in a difficult field that included No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 5 Northern Arizona and No. 13 William and Mary.
Gilbert Limo led the Red Raiders placing 28th running a 24:52.20. Silas Kemboi was the next Red Raider to cross the line in 25:23.30 finishing in 60th. Cory Higgins was seven seconds behind, crossing the line in 66th with a time of 25:30.90.
Zach Quinones ran a 26:00.70 to finish in 97th and David Boston was 126th running a 26:34.50. Other Red Raiders running were Logan Culotta (137th), Zack Dawson (160th), Valentino Julien (177th), Chase Wade (198th), Sam Bushong (207th) and Andrew Goldstein (229th).
Northern Arizona won the men's race with William and Mary coming in second. Tech men finished the meet with 290 points
The men's and women's cross country teams will run at the South Plains College Cross Country Festival in Levelland, Texas.
