LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore defender Brittney Harrison was named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week following her strong performance last weekend as the Red Raiders went on to win consecutive conference matches for the first time since 2000.
This is the first time in program history that a Red Raider has been recognized by the publication.
In last Friday's match against Iowa State, Harrison scored her second goal of the season, while also providing the assist on Zhaleh Rezaie's game-winning goal.
On the back line, Harrison led the Red Raiders in a strong defensive performance, helping Tech defeat Nebraska for the first time in school history, while also breaking a 10-match losing streak to Iowa State.
The only other Big 12 player to make the team was Oklahoma State sophomore midfielder Sierra Strawser.
The Red Raiders resume conference play Friday traveling to Norman, Okla. to face the Oklahoma Sooners before returning home for a 1 p.m. Sunday match against Oklahoma State.
