- Today's game marked the 130th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Baylor. The Red Raiders lead the series 69-61.
- Texas Tech concludes its 2006 season on a six-game losing skid and is the longest at the end of a season for the Red Raiders since dropping 11 games at the end of 1985.
- The Red Raider offense concludes the 2006 season with 35, 10-plus hit games (58 total games played).
- Left fielder Roger Kieschnick (2006 Consensus Big 12 Freshman of the Year) ended his freshman campaign having hit safely in 48 of 58 contests. He finished with a .359 average along with 14 doubles, two triples, nine home runs and 55 RBI.
- Senior infielder Patrick Smart was the only Red Raider named to the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team.
- Texas Tech ends the 2006 season with 54 total home runs that will help benefit Tulane University. Red Raider Baseball and the Lubbock Chapter of the American Red Cross created a joint venture in early spring to allow fans to pledge a predetermined dollar amount on each home run hit by the Red Raiders in 2006. The proceeds will benefit Tulane University and its baseball program as they continue to recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
- For the first time in several seasons, Texas Tech will be the Big 12 team returning the most in 2007. The Red Raiders will welcome back a total of 19 players who were on the 26-man roster at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.
- Texas Tech finished the year with 67 stolen bases and is the fewest by a Larry Hays' team since swiping 47 back in 1989.
- Texas Tech is now 12-18 all-time in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship (one tournament title in 1998).
