LUBBOCK, Texas - Recognizing their efforts both in the classroom and on the field, members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) named Grant and Todd Walker and Brock Stratton to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Thursday.
Todd Walker is a sophomore majoring in Human Development & Family Studies and carries a 3.72 grade point average, while his brother, Grant, is a junior with a 3.5 GPA in business. The last offensive player to be named to the all-district team was receiver Cody Fuller in 2004.
Stratton, making his second appearance on the squad, is a senior majoring in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management with a 3.41 GPA. He was named to the second team in 2004.
Student-athletes selected to the team are required to carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Those named to Academic All-District teams are eligible for Academic All-America consideration. Voting for the all-America teams begins next week.
