
Harrison Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech freshman forward Brittney Harrison was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week by the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday. The honor comes after scoring two goals to help lead the Red Raiders to a victory over No. 17 Missouri.
The Dallas, Texas, native contributed two goals at No. 17 Missouri on Fri., Sept. 29. Harrison's first goal came just 17 minutes into the match. The Red Raiders and Tigers went to halftime tied 1-1. Harrison tallied her second goal of the game at the 51st minute. The pair of goals marks her sixth and seventh goals of the season. Harrison leads the Red Raiders in points (15) and goals (7). She also leads Tech with 30 shots and 18 shots on goal.
This is the first time this season that a Texas Tech player has received a Big 12 honor.
Red Raiders will take a break from Big 12 action on Fri., Oct. 6, as they will face South Dakota State in Brooksing, S.D., at 7 p.m. Tech will get back into conference play when it travels to Lincoln, Neb., on Sun., Oct. 8, to face Nebraska at noon.
