- Moves Tech's record to 32-1 (in Mike Leach era) when leading at halftime.

- Gives Tech an 11-0 record in home night games dating back to the 2001 season. Tech's last loss under the lights at Jones SBC Stadium was against Kansas on Oct. 6, 2001.
HENDERSON SETS SCHOOL TOUCHDOWN RECORD
Senior running back Taurean Henderson set the school record for most career touchdowns when he picked up his 53rd on a three-yard run with 7:32 remaining in the first quarter. Henderson's 53 touchdowns (both rushing and receiving) surpasses the previous record of 52 set by James Gray from 1986 to 1989. He is also the NCAA's active career touchdown leader ahead of Dontrell Moore (New Mexico) and DeAngelo Williams (Memphis).
- Henderson finished with 141 yards on 10 carries and set a new school record with a 14.1 yard-per-attempt average. The previous record was 10.3 yards by James Hadnot against New Mexico in 1978.
SCORING, SCORING AND MORE SCORING
The Texas Tech offense continued its potent attack today against Indiana State. Texas Tech has now scored 40-plus points in each of its last four contests dating back to a 45-31 win over California in the 2004 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl. Tech also put up 49 points in the first half for the second straight week which ties the school record set against Baylor in 2001 and against Sam Houston State.
DOUGLAS NEEDS NO HELP
Junior wide receiver Brandon Douglas was a one-man show on a big special teams play for the Red Raiders in the first half. Douglas blocked a punt by Indiana State's Phillip Johnson and then recovered the punt and returned it for a touchdown. The blocked punt for a touchdown was the first by a Red Raider since Steve Carr in 1991 (block by Peter Allen). The touchdown was also the first of Douglas' career.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
- Taurean Henderson's first touchdown of the game (three-yard rush in first quarter) moved him into second place on the Texas Tech career rushing touchdowns list. Henderson finished with three rushing TD's (tying his career high) and now has 40 in his career.
- Cody Hodges threw his first interception of the season with just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter. On the same play, however, Hodges forced a fumble and that allowed Tech to regain possession.
- Taurean Henderson's 44-yard touchdown run in the first quarter marked his longest of the season.
- Sophomore place kicker Alex Trlica moved into eighth place on the all-time career PAT list on Tech's first scoring drive of the game.
- Jarrett Hicks' hauled in his 21st career touchdown in the second quarter and that moves him into a tie for second place all-time at Tech with Carlos Francis (00-03), Nehemiah Glover (01-04) and Wes Welker (00-03).
- Junior receiver Robert Johnson pushed Tech's lead to 34-0 in the second quarter when he connected on his second career touchdown (seven-yard pass from Hodges).
- Calen Shearer notched his first career fumble recovery with just under four minutes remaining in the first half. Greg Aycock was credited with causing the fumble.
- Joel Filani picked up his fifth career touchdown (third of the season) late in the first half to give Tech a 41-0 lead.
- Marquis Johnson picked up his first career touchdown on Tech's first scoring drive of the third quarter. Johnson caught a nine-yard pass from backup quarterback Graham Harrell. The touchdown throw by Harrell was his second career TD pass.
- Sophomore linebacker Chad Hill recovered a fumble in the third quarter to mark a career first.
