
Reyes Named to Ray Guy Award Watch List

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior punter Alex Reyes (Allen, Texas/Allen) was named to the 2005 Ray Guy Award Watch List by the Greater Augusta Sports Council Tuesday. The award is presented annually to the nation's top collegiate punter.
Reyes averaged 43.0 yards per punt during his true freshman season and 42.2 yards per punt a year ago. In the season opener last weekend against Florida International, Reyes averaged 41.5 yards per punt, including a long punt of 46 yards.
The Ray Guy Award Watch List, which lists 40 candidates, will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists who will be announced in early November, while the three finalists will be announced in late November. The award will be presented at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 8 in Orlando, Fla.
