Sacramento, Calif. - Texas Tech track and field has concluded competition in the 2005 NCAA Championships. The Red Raiders finished the weekend with 10 All-American honors.
In the 400M, Andrae Williams finished third with a clocking of 44.90 and All-America honors. Williams broke the school record of 45.18 that he set in the semifinals of the event. This also marks the third time in two weeks that Williams has reset the school record in the 400M.
On the women's side, Shereefa Lloyd clocked a 51.39, good for a fourth-place finish and All-America honors. Lloyd also set a new school record with her time. Lloyd replaced the previous record of 51.75 that she set at the Midwest Regional meet.
The men's 4x400M, Johnny Jacob, Michael Mathieu, Terry Beard and Andrae Williams, finished in seventh place with a clocking of 3:02.33.
Kevin Chelimo finished in 10th place in the 5000M final with a clocking of 13:59.87.
Jonathan Johnson finished the 800M with a time of 1:46.43 and a sixth-place finish. That race marked the last for Johnson as a Red Raider. He concludes his career with 16 all-conference honors, four consecutive Big 12 titles, one national title, nine All-America honors and holding five school records.
