Head Coach Mike Leach
On Texas: I would have to say that this is the best Texas team that I have been involved in playing against. As the margin of error gets narrow it becomes more and more important to do your job. A lot of the credit goes to Texas in the way they came out ready to play today. Texas is a great team. Most teams you average 15 plays per drive where with Texas they will limit you to seven. You have to execute extra plays in order to be successful and Texas made that hard for us today. When they got in those situations Texas rose up and did their job. They would find a way to make the big play or keep doing they things they were doing. I think they are very capable of winning a national championship.
On Vince Young's performance today: I thought he was pretty good. We contained him for a period of time but he is very explosive and can go off at any given moment. He is a great player and he commands as much attention as any player in the conference.
Cody Hodges, QB
On Texas capitalizing on opponents mistakes:
Texas is the number two in the nation for a reason. When you play against them you have to eliminate the margin for mental mistakes and turning over the ball. We shot ourselves in the foot early on offense and we were playing catch up for the rest of the game.
On UT's defense: They are very fast. They are a great team and you have to capitalize on every drive in order to win and we did not do that today. Texas defense was able to drop a lot of guys and get in passing lanes.
On whether or not Texas should be number one in the nation: Based on the way they played today I would say yes, but we have not played USC. They are both great football teams.
E.J. Whitley, OL
On Texas' defense: Texas is a great team. They played so well today. Texas defense is really tuff. They never stop. I can't say enough about their defensive line. They chose their times to blitz and our offense was not on the same page. They played their hearts out today and so did the rest of their team.
Head Coach Mack Brown
On Texas' play today: This team continues to impress us as a staff. Our guys were excited about this game. But we are still a work in progress and we have the ability to play much better than we have yet. If you don't play your best game and you are still able to score 52 points, you know you have a special team out there. This is such a great win for the Longhorns.
On Texas Tech's offense: We knew Texas Tech's offense would bring us a challenge. Tech throws as good as any team in the country. They are a really good football team. I thought we were holding them back really well defensively, and they were still getting yards.
On taking dead aim on each individual game: We have got to focus on each game of each week, and that is difficult to do in such an exciting season. This team has shown the ability to put exciting games behind them and focus on the next week's game. That is one of the biggest challenges. But these guys are really enjoying playing the game.
Vince Young, Quarterback
On his mindset after his second interception: I was getting frustrated. But I went off to the side; I put myself in a corner and just talked to myself and tried to get ready for the next series. They're a top 10 team. They made plays. It was important for me to show poise and be ready to make plays when we go the ball back.
On Selvin Young: I have just been talking to Selvin [Young] every day at home and just telling him to let the game come to him. For the way he played today I am really proud of him.
Michael Huff, Safety
On the defense: Coach [Gene] Chizik and Coach [Duane] Akina came up with a great defensive scheme and we just went out there and executed.
On the length of the game: We had a great summer worth of conditioning and two-a-day conditioning so fatigue wasn't a factor.
On the defense's mind set: Our offense scores 40 and 50-points a game. It's our job to go out there and get the ball back to our offense and let them do what they do.
