
Cross Country Set for Chile Pepper Invite

Lubbock, Texas - The Texas Tech cross country squads will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the 17th running of the Chile Pepper Invite. The men's 10K will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 15. The women's 6K will follow at 10:30 a.m.
This is the teams' first meet since Sept. 24 and the final preparation before the Big 12 Championships on Oct. 28.
Last time out, at the Stanford Invitational, top performers Violet Chemakwila and Kevin Chelimo both finished in fourth place in their respective races.
The Red Raider men are currently ranked 13th in the Mountain Region and will be facing top 25 teams including No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks, the No. 6 Arizona Wildcats and the No. 11 UTEP Miners in this weekend's race.
The Red Raider women are currently ranked eighth in the Mountain Region and will be facing top 25 teams including the hosting No. 12 Lady Backs and the No. 14 Lady Bears of Baylor in this weekend's race.
