Red Raider Soccer Shut Out By Weber State, 1-0

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team was defeated by the Wildcats of Weber State, 1-0, on the campus of UTEP this afternoon. The Red Raiders posted two shots on goal during the loss.
The Tech offense was led by freshman Priscilla Esquivel and sophomore Jenna Wetzel, who each posted a shot on goal. Esquivel improved her season shots on goal total to eight while Wetzel also posted four shots overall.
Junior Megan Knauss got the start in goal for the Red Raiders, playing all 90 minutes. Knauss allowed one goal and posted five saves, bringing her season save total to nine. Knauss' record dropped to 1-1 on the season.
Texas Tech women's soccer will return to R.P. Fuller Stadium, this Fri., Sept. 24, for their Big 12 opener against Texas at 7 p.m. Tickets for the 2004 season are available by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 742-TECH (8324) or (888) GO-BIG-12.
