Cheserek Named Big 12 Runner of the Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Big 12 Conference announced yesterday that Benson Cheserek is the Big 12 Men's Runner of the Week. Cheserek of Nairobi, Kenya won the UT-Arlington Invitational at Vandergriff Park this past weekend.
In his first run as a Red Raider, he posted a 20:26, averaging 5:04 a mile over the course. Cheserek led the Texas Tech team to a second place finish, one point behind SMU. Cheserek was joined in the top ten by Joseph McCellon, 20:44 and Dwayne Benoit, 21:06.
The squad will continue action next weekend at the UNM Lobo Invite in Albuquerque, N.M.
