TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts Lady Eagles scored three goals in the second half to defeat the Texas Tech soccer team 3-0 on Sunday night at the Oral Roberts Soccer Complex in Tulsa.
Texas Tech opened its season on Friday night against New Mexico but that game ended being cancelled at the half due to severe weather. The Lady Raiders were hoping to get the 2003 season off on a positive note but Jessica Kellogg's goal at the 69:01-mark in the second half proved to be the game winner.
Texas Tech took just three shots-on-goal and seven total shots while Oral Roberts took nine shots on goal and 24 total. Heather Hall gave the Lady Eagles a 2-0 lead at the 72:48-mark and Tamara Waller added the final goal with under 10 minutes remaining in the game.
"We just didn't play aggressive enough tonight," said head coach Felix Oskam. "We need to get more shots on goal and be more dangerous up front."
Texas Tech returns to action on Friday night as they travel to Dallas for a 7 p.m. match against SMU.
