
Tech Soccer Opens Big 12 Conference Play This Weekend

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team looks to change its fortunes this weekend, as they hit the road to open its Big 12 Conference schedule. Tech will take on Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., on Friday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. then travel to Norman, Okla., to battle Oklahoma on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m.
The Red Raiders (2-6-0) will enter the match looking to break a six-game losing streak. The Red Raiders lead the all time series will the Cowgirls 4-2, but Oklahoma State defeated Tech 2-1 last year in Lubbock. The Cowgirls (8-0-0) enter the match as the Big 12's only remaining unbeaten team.
Sunday's opponent, the Oklahoma Sooners (6-2-0) defeated the Red Raiders 3-0 in Norman last year, however Tech leads the all time series 4-1.
Senior Lindsey Wile (Austin, Texas) has made 65 consecutive starts entering the weekend. Wile has started every game of her Tech career.
The Red Raiders will return home to take on the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks next weekend. Tech will battle the Tigers on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. and the Jayhwaks on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. Both matches will be held at R. P. Fuller Stadium.
