Post Game Qoutes

TEXAS TECH HEAD COACH LARRY HAYS
"I thought we wasted a big-time pitching performance (by Fouts). Foutsy after the first inning was great, and it's a shame we didn't support him with some runs. Not scoring with the bases loaded and no outs (in the fourth) hurt. They got the runs in the first and made it hold up.
On lack of hitting -- "We had 4-5 balls hit on the nose and didn't get anything out of them, but you have to do more than that. We didn't get that many opportunities. They did a good job of shutting down our running game."
TEXAS TECH PITCHER NATHAN FOUTS
On giving up Davidson's HR -- "That fastball ran right back into his bat. I missed my spot, and he drove it over the fence. No matter the situation, you have to pitch your game. They fooled our hitters all day.
WASHINGTON HEAD COACH KEN KNUTSON
"It was a long day, but it was a good day for the Huskies. I felt that Texas Tech played really well today, but we just had a little better pitching. Johnson pitched a great game, he just ran out of gas in the eigth." "The teams excited about playing Rice tommorrow in the finals, were going to go out and play hard and compete."
WASHINGTON PLAYER CLAY JOHNSON
On throwing over to first-- "It helped us to control the game and it helped to shut down the Texas Tech running game." On pitching in close games-- "Getting those two runs early really helped me out on the mound, two runs are better then no runs."
