
Bowl Ticket Sales Approach 800 After First Day

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech University ticket office announced that first day ticket sales for the 2002 Mazda Tangerine Bowl was approaching the 800 tickets sold mark at the close of the ticket office Monday evening.
Tech was issued an allotment of 12,000 tickets and University officials are optimistic about increased sales in the coming days. "I believe our sales will pick up somewhat," commented Russell Warren, Assistant Athletic Director/Ticket Operations. "This was really a travel planning day for our fans who are trying to get airfares straightened out. We had a lot of inquiry phone calls that typically translate into sales a within a few days. We are excited about our fans making this trip to a great bowl city."
Tickets are $45 and fans wanting to purchase or inquire about available tickets for the bowl game can call the Texas Tech ticket office at 1-800-Go Big 12 or locally at 742-Tech. Fans will also be able to purchase tickets after hours via the internet at www.texastech.com. As a service to the Red Raider fans, the ticket office will have extended hours on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
