
Tech Soccer Places Five on Academic All-Big 12

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team placed five players on the 2002 Academic All-Big 12 team that was announced this week. Sophomores Roxanne Frilot (Albuquerque, New Mexico), Allison Seifert (Albuquerque, New Mexico), juniors Tiana Boyea (Plano, Texas), Tracy Loyd (Lubbock, Texas), and senior Lindsey Wile (Austin, Texas).
Wile was the team's only senior and was named to the team for the third-consecutive year. In 2001, she was named to the first team and in 2000 she was named to the second team. She will be graduating next May with a degree in advertising. This season she served as team captain and finished the season with one assist on 14 shots.
Boyea, a business major, made all 19 starts for the Red Raiders this season, and was named to Academic All-Big 12 first team in 2001. Loyd, a human development and family studies major, was also named to the team in 2001, and scored one goal in 14 starts for Tech this season.
Sophomores Roxanne Frilot and Allison Seifert were named to the team for the first time. Frilot is a defender who finished the season with four points on one goal and two assists; she is undecided on a major. Seifert, a pre-physical therapy, is a defender who made eight starts for the Red Raiders, while appearing in 15 matches.
