LUBBOCK, Texas - The Football Writers' Association of America (FWAA) today named Texas Tech its national "Team of the Week," following the Red Raiders' 42-38 win over then-No. 3 Texas last Saturday night at Jones SBC Stadium.
The win over the Longhorns put the Red Raiders one win away from claiming their first Big 12 South title since the inception of the league in 1996. The 23rd-ranked Red Raiders face No. 4 Oklahoma (9-1, 5-1) Sat., Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. (CT) in Norman for the right to represent the Big 12 South Division in the Big 12 Championship Game Sat., Dec. 7, in Houston.
