LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior quarterback Kliff Kingsbury was named the Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Oklahoma State's Josh Fields thanks to his outstanding performance against Texas this past Saturday.
Kingsbury, a senior from New Braunfels, helped guide Texas Tech to a 42-38 win over No. 3 Texas giving the Red Raiders a shot at the Big 12 South Division Championship this weekend against Oklahoma. Kingsbury torched the nation's then third-ranked pass defense by completing 38-of-60 passes for 473 yards and six touchdowns. He closed the game with a second half showing of 21-of-26 passing for 210 yards and three touchdowns with 80.8 percent on his completions.
This marks the fourth time this season that Kingsbury has won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors.
