
Tech Cross-Country Teams to Compete in Cowboy Jamboree

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech cross-country teams will head to Stillwater, Okla., this weekend to compere in what is the Nation's longest running cross-country meet, the Cowboy Jamboree.
Several top programs will be competing this weekend including Air Force, Arkansas, Georgetown, Houston, New Mexico and TCU. Also included in the 16-school Division I field are conference foes Kansas, Oklahoma and host school, Oklahoma State.
The Tech men will race first and are led by juniors Joseph McCellon and Dwayne Beniot. McCellon was Tech's top finisher two weeks ago at the kachina Classic in Las Cruces, N.M. while Beniot turned in a top 15 finish.
The women are led by legs of junior Bridgett Tidwell. The Crawford, Texas, native has placed in the top 20 at all three meets this season.
This weekend's meet will be one of the last trails before the two teams head to Columbia, Mo., for the Big 12 Championships, Nov. 2.
