LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team returns to R. P. Fuller Stadium this weekend for a pair of matches as the Red Raiders will face the No. 24 Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday night at 7 p.m. and the Colorado Buffaloes on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The Red Raiders (2-12, 0-6 Big 12) will look for wins in their final four conference matches to improve their position in the standings and make a push for the Big 12 Conference Tournament, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, from Nov. 7-10. Last weekend the Red Raiders were led by Micheala Roberts (San Antonio, Texas), who scored twice against the Texas A&M Aggies to give Tech it first multiple goal game by a player this season.
The Cornhuskers (7-4-3, 2-2-1 Big 12) will enter Friday's match ranked 5th in the Central Region of the Soccer Buzz rankings. Last weekend Nebraska defeated Memphis, 3-0, on Friday night and Iowa State, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon. Colorado enters the weekend unranked with a 6-6-1 overall record and a 1-3-1 mark in conference play. The Buffaloes will take on the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas, on Friday night.
Friday night's match up with Nebraska will be "Feed the Fan Night" sponsored by Schlotzsky's Deli. The first 150 fans in attendance will receive a free sandwich from Schlotzsky's Deli.
