
Tech Soccer Faces Tough Weekend Road Trip

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team will face two of the top teams in the country when they hit the road to battle the Texas Longhorns in Austin, Texas, on Friday night at 7 p.m. and the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station, Texas, on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Longhorns enter the weekend as the 3rd ranked team in the country according the NSCAA/adidas Top 25. At 8-2-1, 3-0-0 in Big 12, Texas is off to it best start in school history and have posted shutouts in five of their last six matches. The Aggies appear at the 6th position in the poll and are 9-3 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12.
The Red Raiders (2-10, 0-4 Big 12) will be led into the match by goalkeeper Beth Lippert (Woodinville, Wash.) who is third in the Big 12 with 52 saves. Senior Lindsey Wile (Austin, Texas) has made 69 consecutive starts for the Red Raiders, having started every game for the Red Raiders since the 1999 season. Junior Tiana Boyea (Plano, Texas) is also working on an impressive streak of her own; the defender has made 49 consecutive starts heading into Friday's match with Texas.
Tech will return home next weekend, as it hosts the 23rd ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers at R. P. Fuller Stadium on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. The Red Raiders will continue the homestand on Sunday, Oct. 20, as they battle the Colorado Buffaloes.
