Red Raiders Compete In Texas Tech Open

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech cross country "B" teams show that they can compete with the best of them today at the Texas Tech Open. The men's cross country team places 3 in the top ten and the women's cross country team places 2 in the top twenty.
On the men's cross country team, sophomores Scott Moore and Chris Ramirez placed 3rd and 7th running times of 26.29 and 27.20, respectively. Freshman Rob Kalescky placed 10th finishing the 8K race with a time of 27.29.
On the women's cross country team, sophomore Megan Beaty placed 15th finishing the 5K race with a time of 22.48. Freshman Kelly Blikre placed 18th with a time of 22.58. Freshman Stefanie Calhoun placed 22nd with a time of 23.30.
Head cross country coach Dave Smith rested his top 7 runners this week in order to gear up for the pre-national meet next Saturday at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.
