Over 4,000 fans got their money's worth on Saturday afternoon at Dan Law Field as Texas Tech defeated Oklahoma, 8-7, in 12 innings. Eric McLamore's line drive scored Mark Austry with one out in the 12th inning to give Tech their seventh win in the last nine games.
The Red Raiders opened the game with three runs in the bottom of the first off Sooner starter Austin Mix. Scott Holzhauer and Marco Cunningham scored on a Chaz Eiguren triple off the centerfield wall. Eiguren scored one batter later when Jason Rainey doubled to right.
Oklahoma came right back in the second and scored four runs off Tech starter Cory Metzler. The Sooners sent nine batters to the plate and pounded out six hits in the inning.

Once again, Oklahoma answered with a run in the fourth to regain the lead, but Tech scored two in the bottom of the fifth. In the fifth, Eiguren singled to left and scored when Rainey blasted his ninth home run of the season over the rightfield wall. The Red Raiders added another run in the seventh to go up 7-5. Eiguren started the inning with a single and moved to third on a base hit by Rainey. Landry notched his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly that scored Eiguren.
The Sooners tied the game with a run in the eighth and ninth innings. In the eighth, Jason Barlett doubled and Tech head coach Larry Hays went to the bullpen for Kevin Tracey. Bartlett scored two batters later on a single by Josh Witcher. In the ninth, Tommy Whiteman walked to lead off the inning and tied the game on Rick Park's third double of the day.
Both teams were scoreless for two innings before Austry led off the bottom of the 12th with a single to centerfield. Trey Lunsford moved Austry to second with a sacrifice bunt before Jeff Bajenaru balked to put Austry at third base.
