Dear Texas Tech Football Letterman,
A lot has changed at Texas Tech in the past few months. A new football staff is in place and working hard, a major renovation project is underway for football and a world-class arena stands proudly on campus.
The Texas Tech Athletic Department wants you to experience this "newness" with us, so it is my privilege and pleasure to invite all former Red Raider football players to attend a special "Spring Reception" April 14-15.
Our football staff understands the importance of support from former players and is looking forward to meeting and getting to know you during this event.
Following is a schedule of events for the weekend:
| Friday, April 14 | |
| 11 a.m. | Check-in at Meadowbrook Golf Course for complimentary Red-Black Golf Tournament. Shotgun start at noon. Make up your own group or we will pair you with others. The coaching staff will participate. We are limited to 144 golfers. |
| 5-7 p.m. | Complimentary dinner at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion across from Jones Stadium. The coaching staff will give a program. |
| Saturday, April 15 | |
| 6:30 p.m. | Alumni Flag Football Game, Jones Stadium. Challenges are welcome. |
| 7 p.m. | Red-Black Spring Game. See what changes are in store for the fall. |
As a sidelight, there will be some outstanding college baseball played in Lubbock during the weekend when the Red Raiders host Texas. Game times are 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
Two important things to remember:
1) Call Joe Hornaday in advance if you can attend any of the events so he can get you on the list. Joe may be reached at (806) 742-2607 or 742-3355.
2) Contact your teammates and get them back with us. The bigger the attendance, the better.
