Marco Cunningham lead off the ninth inning by reaching on an error. Two batters later, Shaun Larkin reached on an error to set the stage for Chaz Eiguren. The designated hitter knocked a single to centerfield to score Cunningham for Tech's first run of the game. Larkin then scored from third on a wild pitch to make the game 3-2. After pinch hitter Chad Landry was intentionally walked to load the bases, Trey Lunsford and Eric McLamore drew back-to-back walks to win the game for the Red Raiders.
Right-hander Steve Rowe earned the win with a career-high 5.2 innings of relief. Rowe, a sophomore, held the Trojans scoreless on just one hit and three strikeouts.
