LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech soccer team signed center midfielder Lauren Taylor to a National Letter of Intent. Taylor, a product of Thomas A. Edison High School in Tulsa, Okla. is the younger sister of walk-on and Tech starting goalkeeper Kelly Taylor.
A three-year letterwinner, Taylor was an all-district and all-conference selection the last three seasons. As a junior, she was selected team MVP and Top Lady Eagle. Her high school team finished as District Champions in 1995 and have garnered a 22-14-3 record during her three years. Taylor played club ball for the Hurricane '80.
Taylor is active in the National Honor Society and has received an Outstanding Academic Achievement award, along with being named to the Principal's Honor Roll and the President's Education Award Program. Taylor also plays varsity softball and basketball.
"Lauren is a talented student athlete who will add a great deal to our program both on and off the field. We look forward to having her join Kelly on next year's team," Texas Tech Head Coach Felix Oskam said.
Taylor joins Jamie Wolff of Baltimore, Md. Kenwood High School and Brittney Peese of San Antonio Clark High School in this season's recruiting class.
