Tech Falls to Kansas 3-2

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Red Raider women?s soccer team lost a hard fought battle to Kansas, 3-2, at R.P Fuller Stadium. Texas Tech falls to 5-6-1 overall and 1-3 in the Big 12, while the Jayhawks improve to 6-5 and 1-3 in conference play.
In the first half, the game remained scoreless. The first goal of the game was scored at 71:30 by Kansas. The Red Raiders knotted the score at 1-1 at the 76th minute on a goal by sophomore forward Carrie Graham from junior midfielder Jennifer Hamm. The Jayhawks went on to score the next two goals with in the next 10 minutes of play. Hamm knocked in Tech?s last goal with 44 seconds remaining in the game.
The Red Raiders outshot the Jayhawks 27-12 and had 18 shots-on-goal to Kansas? eight. Tech also had five corner kicks, while Kansas had one.
Sophomore Brittany Peese played all 90 minutes in goal, recording three saves.
Texas Tech will finish its home schedule next week against Texas on Friday, Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. and then on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. against Texas A&M.
