
Texas Tech Falls To Oklahoma State, 2-1

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Texas Tech in Big 12 women's soccer action Friday evening at the OSU Soccer Complex.
Forward Kellie White opened the scoring for the Cowgirls at the 17:07 mark in the first half when she took a long pass from Mercy Morrical and beat Texas Tech goalkeeper Brittney Peese from the left side into the near post for a 1-0 lead.
Morrical gave OSU a 2-0 lead with 25 minutes left in the game when she headed in a corner kick from Andi Lute to score her second goal of the season.
Texas Tech scored to make it 2-1 with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game, as Jamie Woods recorded a penalty-kick goal caused by an OSU foul in the box. It was the second penalty kick for TTU in the second half as Kristy Frantz had an attempt at the 57 minute mark that sailed high.
Oklahoma State goalkeepers Katharine Doud and Laurel Catlett-King combined for 11 saves on 22 shots by the Red Raiders.
The win was the Cowgirls first ever against the Red Raiders in four opportunities.
Oklahoma State moved to 4-11 on the season and 2-5 in Big 12 play while Texas Tech fell to 7-7-1 and 3-4-0 in conference play.
The Cowgirls will host Baylor Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., while the Red Raiders will travel to Norman to take on Oklahoma at 1 p.m.
