Daniella Rodarte enters her third season as a volunteer assistant coach at Texas Tech University. In her position, Rodarte assists both defensively and offensively with slappers. She also serves as Tech’s softball camp coordinator.Â
Rodarte graduated from Houston Baptist University where she lettered all four years for the Huskies. She earned her degree in Kinesiology and Education.
Before joining the Tech staff, Rodarte was an assistant coach at Dulles High School in Houston, where she helped the Lady Vikings reach a record of 20-7, and a trip back to the class 6A playoffs. The Lady Vikings were just 6-9 the season before Rodarte’s arrival.
On top of coaching at the high school level, and now the college level, Rodarte also helps coach for her former travel ball team, Texas Glory. Over her college years, she has dedicated her time helping coach a 12U, 14U, and 16U team. In 2011, she helped lead Texas Glory 14U to a 7th place finish at PGF Nationals, and in 2015, helped Texas Glory 16U to a 3rd place finish at Triple Crown and 9th place finish at PGF Nationals.
Before Rodarte’s hiring at Texas Tech, she had a great college playing career at Houston Baptist University. The utility player and slapper helped her team to a Conference Championship following her freshman year. She was a 2012 All-Conference Second Team, and led her team in hits and triples. Rodarte was a great utility player for the Huskies, ranking ninth in games played (195) and hits (162), fourth in triples (18), and second in at bats (161). Following her abilities off the field, Rodarte was also named to the Southland Conference Spring Honor Roll in 2013 and 2014, as well as co-captain.Â
Rodarte is the daughter of Pablo and Claudia Rodarte. She has one sister, Annalise, and her family resides in the Dallas area.
