That total was second in the league to Colorado who had nine players make the list.
Red Raiders chosen to the first team include junior forward Jennifer Benat, sophomore defender Cece Dillon, sophomore forward Kristy Frantz, sophomore defender Ashlyn Peterson and junior defender Jennifer Wood. Honorable mention accolades went to sophomore midfielder Lizzy Biles and sophomore defender Crystal Dady. "This says a lot about our soccer program. We want our athletes to be successful on the field, but most importantly in the classroom. I am proud of each one of these athletes," Texas Tech head soccer coach Felix Oskam said. Frantz was not only selected to the Academic All-Big 12 first team, but also to the All-Big 12 Conference second team. The forward from Alexandria, Va. finished the season with 33 points off a team high 14 goals and five assists. She finished as the Big 12 Conference's fifth leading scorer. It is the second season that Frantz has been a second team selection. "Kristy is very deserving of this honor. She is a talented soccer player who also has a great work ethic. That combination will always bring about success," Oskam said.
