Red Raiders enter top 10 of U.S. LBM coaches poll

Texas Tech is now No. 10 in the coaches poll and No. 11 in the Associated Press poll after 3-0 start
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech pushed into the top 10 of the U.S. LBM coaches poll for the first time this season Sunday, while also moving up two spots to No. 11 in the Associated Press rankings after the Red Raiders' 28-26 victory over Houston.
The Red Raiders overcame an early 10-0 deficit to improve to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in Big 12 play with their win over the Cougars, who dropped to No. 25 in the Associated Press poll after the loss. Houston fell out of the coaches poll, finishing with the most points among schools receiving votes but not inside the top 25.
BYU is now the highest-ranked Big 12 program after moving up to No. 9 in both polls. The Red Raiders are No. 10 overall in the vote of various head coaches from across the country, marking their highest ranking of the season after beginning the year at No. 12 in both polls. Utah is the only other Big 12 program ranked in either poll at No. 15 overall, while West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Arizona and Kansas State are all receiving votes this week.
Texas Tech won its 10th-consecutive game inside Galaxy Stadium and its eighth-straight victory in the series against Houston with a strong second half Friday night. The Red Raiders return to non-conference play this Saturday when Texas Tech welcomes Sam Houston for an 11 a.m. kickoff inside Galaxy Stadium.
Tickets are already sold out as part of Texas Tech's annual Parents Weekend on campus. It will also be Texas Tech's annual Agriculture Game and Hall of Fame Weekend. Fans without tickets are encouraged to utilize SeatGeek, the official secondary ticket provider of Texas Tech Athletics.
