Red Raider Loyalty program will launch this academic year to better reward student attendance
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics will introduce a new student ticket loyalty system beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, allowing students to reserve their spot inside both Galaxy Stadium and United Supermarkets Arena in advance of each home event.
The new loyalty program stems from a survey of more than 800 students this summer on Texas Tech's previous student attendance policy, which was first-come, first-served on the day of each event until capacity was reached. The feedback from this survey showed an overwhelming number of students preferred certainty and consistency in guaranteeing their spot for home football and men's basketball events – especially for marquee games – well in advance of gameday.
Thus, the Red Raider Loyalty program was created by the Texas Tech's promotions and fan engagement department in partnership with the Student Government Association and various campus leadership organizations. The Red Raider Loyalty program will not impact student capacity but will instead provide students with a reservation model to know their ticket status well in advance of each home event, allowing Texas Tech to maintain its status as one of the top homefield advantages in college athletics.
"We're excited to debut the Red Raider Loyalty program with our student body this fall," said Grayson King, a former walk-on for the Red Raider football program and the new Student Body President for the 2026-27 academic year. "Through this program, gamedays at Galaxy Stadium and United Supermarkets Arena will be even better, allowing students the ease in knowing they have a guaranteed spot to support our Red Raiders."
Texas Tech Athletics built the Red Raider Loyalty program in-house, utilizing its Red Raiders Mobile App that is available on both iOS and Google stores. On the home screen, students will select the "Red Raider Loyalty" link from the menu bar each week to access the reservation system using their eRaider login information.
For football, the reservation window will run from 7 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. each Sunday for students to request access into that week's game. Selected students will be notified via the app of their reservation status and will have until 5 p.m. each Monday to claim their spot. Students not selected through the initial reservation window on Sunday will have an opportunity after that 5 p.m. deadline Monday as part of a waitlist for any available spots that are not claimed.
Texas Tech will have a standby line outside the student entrances at both Galaxy Stadium and United Supermarkets Arena for those who do not submit a claim. Students who claim a seat utilizing the reservation system must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of each event in order to guarantee their spot. After that point, Texas Tech will allow students in the standby line access to the student section for any available seating.
As part of the loyalty system, students will be assigned points at the beginning of each academic year based on their class standing. From there, students can accumulate additional points through attendance at each of Texas Tech's ticketed sports to increase their odds at reservation claims for home football and men's basketball games.
When the total reservation requests outnumber student capacity, Texas Tech will utilize this points system to fairly allocate student tickets, rewarding students who attend the most events across all sports. Additionally, students who claim a seat at a football or men's basketball event and then fail to scan in will be negatively impacted in the points system. Texas Tech will carry over 50 percent of each student's points from one year to the other to encourage attendance at its spring sporting events.
Texas Tech will also utilize the Red Raider Loyalty system for all home men's basketball games. Additional information regarding the reservation timeline for basketball will be announced in the coming months.
