Tech now No. 3 across all polls after series win over Arizona
LUBBOCK, Texas –Texas Tech (27-2, 5-1) remained No. 3 in the D1Softball and Softball America polls but fell one spot to No. 3 in the NFCA and ESPN/USA Softball polls that were updated today.
The Red Raiders won their series against top-15 Arizona last weekend after dropping game one. Tech responded strongly with back-to-back run-rule victories over the Wildcats in what was a pivotal series for both teams when considering the race for the Big 12.
NiJaree Canady bounced back after a tough first outing to throw a two-hit shutout in the rubber match game to secure the series. Kaitlyn Terry hit three home runs in the series and had six RBI. Mihyia Davis became the only active player to reach 300 career hits and currently leads the nation in stolen bases with 26.
UP NEXT: Texas Tech will resume Big 12 play at UCF on Friday.
